😍 My Favorite FREE Plugin

I’ve been using this plugin in every mix/mockup since 2022.

One noticeable difference between live instruments and sampled ones is the lack of “air” in the mix. When VSTs are sampled—especially quiet instruments like harp—mix engineers remove high frequencies to prevent noise floor buildup from the recording room itself.

In short, this plugin adds an insane amount of crispness and pleasant “hiss” to any track/mix it’s applied to. I find it particularly great when it comes to winds and strings, but honestly I’ve experimented with using it throughout my mix chain.

My only suggestion is to use it early in your signal chain, so you have more control of fine-tuning instruments early. That concept applies for this plugin and others, such as compression, and stereo spreaders.
